I Wonder Why?
This Sunday at our morning service we will be exploring the theme ‘I Wonder Why?’ Anyone who has brought up children will quickly realise that once they are able to put sentences together the theme of ‘why?’ often appears in them. For example, ‘Why is the sky blue?’ or ‘why is the grass green?’ and it often challenges those more adult in being able to provide them with a reasonably accurate answer. This Sunday, together with the children we will be exploring that question on various topics of why we do things, why we believe certain things. We will be doing this with the help of practical illustrations and singing songs that are relevant to that topic. For example, this Sunday in this country is Mothering Sunday, but the question could easily be put ‘why is it called Mothering Sunday?’ and I wonder how many people would come up with the right answer?

Is it something to do with the “mother church”? In other words what we would call today “church plants” would return to the parent church to share worship, give thanks etc.
