Why do you give financially to the church?

We believe that God has ownership of our entire beings, including our money and possessions. As part of our service to God and to the local Christian community, we give financially to the church.

While there is no obligation to do so, such giving is very much encouraged by the practice of the early church, as reflected in the letters of the apostle Paul.

What do you use the money for?

The money raised through giving by church members is used to support the work of the church – including the employment of staff, any purchases that we need to make to keep the church running, a contribution to the upkeep of the building, the support of local and overseas partners, and other areas of ministry.

Who administers the money and who is accountable?

The funds are administered by the church leaders, and individual team leaders have budget responsibility for their areas. Full accounts are published to the church members each year, and also shared with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).

Can I Gift Aid my giving?

Yes. As the church is a charity, we are able to claim back tax paid by UK taxpayers. This means that your giving goes even further. If you are a UK taxpayer and you would like us to reclaim tax that you have paid, then please complete our Gift Aid form and give to Gordon Smith, our Treasurer.
