Believers’ Baptism

baptism

One of the things that defines Baptists is the act of Believers’ Baptism. This is where a person expresses their faith in Jesus Christ by being baptised, usually by being fully immersed in water as a metaphor of Jesus’s death and resurrection.

This Sunday we have the privelege to witness the baptism of our friend Rob Galbraith, and we are happy to join with him in celebrating this next stage in his spiritual journey.

Travel note: As it is the Glasgow Women’s 10k run on Sunday, traffic diversions around the Southside may mean that your journey to church will take a little longer!

Church Consultancy Presentation

Neil Young will be with us as he presents the results of his consultancy with the church. This is an important milestone in our church’s life, and will be the start of another innovative set as we learn what God has in store for us in the future.

This presentation will be followed by a church lunch, where you will be able to speak with each other and Neil.

Following lunch, at 2pm we plan to have our monthly prayer meeting to pray over what we have heard from Neil.

Jack Quinn says:

“There will be challenges within the consultancy and we will have to make some decisions about how we embrace some of the issues.

I would remind us all that Adelaide Place is a church that throughout it’s long history has embraced innovation and has been willing to make big changes in the way it works and practices in order to be relevant and real as a people of God who are anxious to embrace their fellow citizens in the love of Christ.”
